At Woza Meat Butchery, we are proud to be a family-run business that grew from a simple dream: to bring high-quality meat closer to the community.
Six years ago, our founder, Mr. Musa Zondo, was tired of traveling over 15km just to access good quality meat. Determined to make a change, he began sourcing meat directly from the abattoir—not just for his family, but for friends and neighbors as well. What started as small-scale sales from the back of a car quickly grew into something bigger as word spread and demand increased.
This overwhelming community support allowed us to take the next step: opening our first spaza shop from home, creating a dedicated space to serve customers better.
During this time, Mrs. Phindile Zondo, Musa’s wife, was working full-time at DisChem while also helping with the growing business. Recognizing the growing potential and impact of the butchery, she made the important decision to join her husband full-time. Together, they built Woza Meat Butchery into a thriving local business.
Today, Woza Meat Butchery proudly serves the community from two locations, with the second location also offering Shisa Nyama—a space for people to gather, share great food, and create memories. The family business is now supported by their son, Mr. Lungelo Zondo, their nephew, and a dedicated team of employees who share the Zondo family’s commitment to quality and service.
